Another First! I've never been sledding. This was an amazing day that could have been a bust. We made it up to the mountain and for a reason that doesn't matter enough for me to remember we weren't able to snowboard. So we stopped at the local supermarket and picked up some sleds. The area was off the highway with a designated parking area for the sled hill, but that was all that was there. Like they planning for this area to only have sledding and snow play, nothing else.
There were a few other people there and the hill was beaten down into a nice HARD icy course. My babe wondered off the beaten path and found a softer more curvy hill to play on. As with all things play, there is work or a challenge or a goal. His was to get almost to the road/pavement/parking lot. He succeeded and that is his victory stance.
I love this picture he took of me, looking too much like the kid from "A Christmas Story" all bundled up, barely able to move. I wasn warm enough, but my fingers...so cold. there is a purple sled underneath me that is barely visible here.
